I am getting to be bad at this blogging thing... so much going on and so little time to get it all done! I wanted to share some pages that I made for one of my friends that I scrap for. She has two adorable little children and I love working on their pictures- especially since one of them is a girl and I can get my pink fix :) Here are a few of the recent pages I have done:
So all super simple but fun layouts! Hope to be back soon!

Some more digital layouts...
Holy moly- it has been a while since I blogged! Life has been crazy the past few weeks. My mom had to be rushed to Omaha by ambulance a few weeks ago to have a pacemaker put in at Creighton University Med Center so I was down there with her for 3 days while she was having that done and then getting back home after being gone for a while, I had to catch up on housework, laundry, blah, blah, blah- ya know! But she is doing great and feeling much better, so it was all worth it! I have been taking Jessica Sprague's Digi In Deeper in preparation for the Art of Digital Design class that starts in March. This class has been really fun and I am learning all sorts of new things, which has been awesome! Here are the first 4 layouts that we have had to complete for this class:
The digital design class starts in March and right now I am working on a few different digital kits. I am hoping to be able to share a few freebies here in the coming weeks, so if you are a digital scrapper, be on the lookout for that! I am hoping to be back tomorrow to share some layouts I did for one of my friends that I scrapbook for. I get to do fun girly stuff for her little girl and boy do I love it- can't use much pink on my two boys' books :) Hope everyone has a great evening!

Snowy day...
Well it is a snowy day here and the wind is blowing like crazy- typical Nebraska! I haven't posted anything for a while as I am trying to get stuff in order for upcoming crop in Albion in April. I am teaching some classes and trying to figure out what paper to get, what techniques to use, etcetera! So I am going to do a quick share today on the last layout from Digi In Deep. This one was super super fun and it is my favorite so far. I learned a lot of cool tricks in this lesson and I loved every second of it!
I also happened to love the pictures I used too- my little man Landon just a cheesin' out for me! I promise I will be back soon with my first weeks of Project Life- I am just adding some journaling and customizing some page protectors for extras I am adding! Have a great snowy day!

Another digi layout...
I have another digital layout to share that we created in Jessica Sprague's Digi In Deep class. It was really a fun layout. I normally don't do layouts like this but since the class required it :)...and I really kinda like it anyways :) My favorite part was going to Google Map and putting in a map of where we live- how cool is that?! Here is the layout:
I think it would be super cool to do a layout showing your childhood home or last place lived and then your current home and using the map feature to show the two different places- maybe I will have to do that in the future! So just a real quick post today and I am going to keep truckin' on this digi class! Have a great Friday!

A digital layout and paper layout
Today I am going to share the next layout I did for my Jessica Sprague class Digi In Deep. This one was really fun, I especially like the photo mat- really fun shape!
I'm having a lot of fun with this class and learning quite a few new tricks :) The next layout is one I did following this PageMaps sketch:
A really simple page, but I love how it turned out. I really just wanted to emphasize my little man's adorable face :) The brown polka dot paper was Making Memories, yellow grid was Crate Paper, and blue polka dots was from my favorite little boy line from 3 Bugs in a Rug, along with the stickers. A few shipping tags with my journaling, a stamped date, ribbon, and a bunch of brads finished it off. I absolutely love using brads and usually have to get at least two rows of three brads in on at least every page I do! The border punch was from EK Success. Be back tomorrow hopefully with my first two weeks of Project Life. Tuesday, January 18, 2011
Dipping a toe (or whole foot) into digi-scrapping/designing!
So, I have always kind of played around in Photoshop and go through spurts of buying digital kits and such to play with. This summer, I got the full edition of Photoshop and spent most of the summer designing papers and some templates, which I absolutely loved! Since I have been scrapping for years, I have ideas of papers and elements that I would love to see whether it is paper scrapping or digital, so I decided why not try my hand at designing? Jessica Sprague has a class called The Art of Digital Design that I am going to take in March and her prerequisites are two other classes, Digi In Deep and Digi in Deeper. I am currently taking Digi In Deep and loving it! Here is the layout we had to complete for class:
It was a lot of fun and I learned tons of new techniques. We had another assignment challenge to create a layout using a compound mask with an ellipse and square design. We also had to include two of three things, which I did all three- create an opaque journal box, add brushes to title, and using a clipping mask to "wrap" ribbon/floss around an image. This was my take:
So I'm having a super fun time taking these classes and I am super excited to take the Design class so I can learn all the aspects of designing from actually creating papers, embellishments, and templates to learning how to sell them and all the stuff that goes along with it! So in the upcoming weeks and months, I am hoping to start sharing digital freebies here on the blog while I learn the ropes some more :) This doesn't mean that I am going all digital- I LOVE paper scrapping more than anything but I am really enjoying this too... a little of this, a litle of that- you know! I am also hoping to share my first few weeks of Project Life here in the next day or two also, so be on the lookout for that!

A 5-minute card!
So today I was cleaning up my scrap room and I have this little basket on my table that I throw scraps into and embellishments left over from a project that I don't use. I saw I had the green card in there from a project I had done another time. I decided to challenge myself to make a card just using items I found in my little scrap bucket and of course a few stamps! So this is what I ended up with in literally 5 minutes!
The cardstock colors are certainly celery and bashful blue from Stampin Up! Ink is Marina Mist from Stampin Up! Stamps are both from Unity Stamp Co. The two pieces of patterned paper were punched with border punches, one a scallop and the other a notebook paper punch. Flowers are from Prima and rhinestones from Kaiser Craft. Super easy card made with leftover scraps!
